MUSIC MIXING
Mixing happens at the start of post-production when a mixing engineer sculpts and balances the separate tracks in a session to sound cohesive when played together.
Mix engineers reduce imbalances between instruments by adjusting balance and color, tightening rhythmic patterns, and emphasizing important song elements with tools like EQ, compression, panning, and reverb.
MUSIC MASTERING
Mastering a song involves taking a mix and putting the final touches on it by elevating certain sonic characteristics.
This can involve aspects like adjusting levels, applying stereo enhancement, and monitoring for clicks and pops–anything that could distract the listener from the music.
The end result is a polished, clean sound that is optimized for consistent playback across different formats and systems.

WHAT ARE ACX STANDARDS?
To sell your audiobook on Audible, your audio files need to meet ACX standards. My delivery to you will be in wav and mp3 formats, mastered to meet ACX standards. I know because I published my audiobook. ACX standards are pretty tricky to achieve, so you're saving yourself time and money with me!
DO YOU ADD MUSIC AND CREDITS TO THE AUDIOBOOK?
To pass ACX requirements, your audiobook needs opening & closing credits. For an additional fee, I will mix appropriate royalty-free music into you audiobook that you provide.
WHY IS EDITING, MIXING, AND MASTERING IMPORTANT?
In order to achieve a high-quality professional audio product, your audio must be consistent in overall sound and formatting. Consistency in audio levels, tone, noise level, spacing, and pronunciation gives the listener an enjoyable experience. Drastic changes can be jarring to the listener and are not reflective of a professional production.
WHAT IS YOUR AVAILABILITY?
It depends on when you ask! Audiobooks are large time commitments, with that said, I deliver on time or in some cases, earlier than expected.
